Recently Michael has been selected two consecutive years for the United States National Select team that consists of the top 16 and 17 year olds in the Nation. In Early 2009, he signed a letter of intent to attend University of North Dakota and play NCAA Divisional I ice hockey. He now plays for Cedar Rapids Rough Riders, a USHL Junior A team in Iowa.
