Training with Beth at Emerge has changed my life. When I came to Emerge, I was searching for a way to loose weight and improve my health - What I got was much more than that. In just over a year, I have lost pounds and inches while gaining self-esteem, confidence, and a passion for fitness.
Beth is constantly finding new ways of challenging me, which is just what someone with a competitive nature needs. Some of my accomplishments include, reaching my high school weight, and recently running a five-mile race: two things I never imagined. Training at Emerge not only helped me reach my fitness goals, but also provided me with a comfortable environment and a trainer/confidant who is invaluable. - Alexis
I wasn't happy with my body and at 39 decided to do something about it so upon a recommendation by a friend I contacted Jody Blanton at Emerge Fitness and started on my path towards acheiving my newly created health goals. Jody has been such a blessing and has really allowed me to focus and stay motivated. For some reason it is easier to get motivated when you are paying someone to keep you healthy. Odd I know, but we are all human and it is way too easy to use the "I don't have the time" excuse. Beyond the motivation and focus that I got from Jody, she is an excellent trainer and has become my friend as well. I'm not sure where I would be right now without her help. I would also like to thank my wonderful husband for staying positive and encouraging me to stay the course during this adventure. Thank you!!! - Kim
I have worked out at a gym since high school and thought I knew what I was doing. Once I had the privilege of working out with a personal trainer I realized what I was doing was wrong and I could have sustained an injury. Having a personal trainer has many benefits. In training for my dream job it requires me to be physical fit and to maintain my fitness level during my entire career. I trained with my personal trainer Adam for nine months and achieved a level of fitness I did not think was possible. Functionally I have conditioned myself to ensure I am capable of performing my job to my full potential.
From the beginning my personal trainer discussed my diet and started me on a nutrition plan that actually works. I have learned that just dieting or working out without proper nutrition is not affective as doing them together. I have learned that the proper nutrition and workout together equal great results. Some days I do not feel like working out but my trainer pushes me and encourages me to succeed. Adam has taught me the human body naturally wants to stop at a certain point but is capable of much more. I can attest to this and have experienced this first hand. It is amazing what the human body is capable of doing when pushed.
Someone once asked me "why do you need a personal trainer and what is it like?" I cannot answer for all the personal trainers that are out there but I can answer for the one I am trained by. To me having a personal trainer is like combining your favorite teacher, your favorite coach, and your best friend all in one. My personal trainer has taught me valuable exercises, stretches, nutrition, running techniques, and much more. A genuine personal trainer has the knowledge and experience to train someone who has never trained before and overweight, to training experienced athletes. I feel sorry for the individuals I see at the gym doing the same exercises all the time and doing them wrong. You need to change your work out routine in order to maximize your bodies' ability.
After serving the St. Louis area as a police officer for over 11 years, I have now moved on to federal law enforcement. My new duties require me to be physically fit and meet continuing fitness standards. While training with Adam at Emerge executing functional programs training the core, and pushing myself through high intensity strength workouts I am prepared for my new career. - Chris
My primary reasons for exercise are health, maintenance and overall fitness training. Before training at Emerge, I found that my workouts were getting stale and boring and I had a hard time challenging myself. Now, I look forward to my workouts! I know that each time I train with Angie that I will learn a new exercise as well as the science behind why it produces results. Not only am I challenging my muscles with the new movements, but having a trainer adds another layer of accountability. It's invaluable to have someone to "keep you honest" not only during your workouts, but also for everyday nutrition and fitness. Emerge keeps me going and inspires me to be my very best! - Susan
I was always intimidated to go to the gym so I never went or worked out. But with the help of Angie at Emerge Fitness, I overcame my fear. I have been training at their non-threatening gym for almost two years now and including training through my entire pregnancy. Working out while pregnant I had limited weight gain and felt great my entire 9 months of being pregnant. I have been surprised at how much I enjoy working out and the great results I have both seen and felt. I am 28 years old and feel like I am in the best shape of my life.
