I have been in the fitness industry for nearly 10 years and personally worked out consistently for the last 18 years of my life. The first 8 years in the gym I learned from coaches and others in the gym "how to workout". I played football and ran track on the high school and collegiate level, but it wasn't until I became a fitness professional that I learned a lot of what I was taught was incorrect. In sports, especially football coaches sacrifice form and functional movement for power. Other patrons in the gym are simply going to tell you what works best for them, but that may or may not apply to your success in the gym.

Over the last ten years I have taken the time to learn the science behind weight loss, muscle gain, nutrition, sports performance enhancement, secondary physical rehabilitation, and general health improvement. Even though I have trained over 10,000 sessions in my career, I continue to educate myself by constantly renewing and acquiring certifications that are nationally accredited. While home from college in my 3rd year I was in a life altering accident that ended my collegiate career as a student athlete.

I recently have gone back to school to finish my degree through the California University of Pennsylvania in Sports Management/Health and Wellness. The accident is what peaked my interest in the rehab field because I went through therapy and found that a lot is lacking in most therapy centers in the form of corrective exercise. Through studying the affects of scar tissue and how to manipulate it to allow for proper kinetic movement, and also familiarizing myself with Bob Cooley's Resistance Flexibility System I believe to have created an innovative form of secondary rehab that in this area is only offered at Emerge Fitness.
