Kody Welker

I am someone who has been active, one way or another, the larger portion of my life. As a kid, I played some of the traditional sports: baseball, basketball, and soccer. Growing up, I knew I wanted to pursue baseball more seriously than the rest. I played all through high school and then onto a select team afterwards.

My journey to becoming a personal trainer/coach started when I was told I was fat and needed to lose weight and, as a younger guy, I didn’t know how to lose weight and gain muscle the proper way. As a result of my ignorance, I lost too much weight too fast which resulted in my baseball career coming to a halt, due to losing strength in my arms and legs. This is what led me to pursue strength training and placing more of a priority on my nutrition.

I have always had a passion for paying it forward and teaching people the things that have helped me, mentally and physically, in an outside of the gym. I see the gym as my laboratory. In the world of personal training/coaching, if you are not continuously learning, then it is inevitable that you will get left behind. The things I continuously learn, I apply on myself prior to subjecting anybody else, so I can gain a better understanding of what is to be expected. I chose to get my certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Nutrition) and a specialty certification through National TriggerPoint certification.
